I have been taking care of cats for a very long time and most of the cats I have nurtured are all local breeds, most of them are strays that I adopted.
I have realized that cats also have different personalities. I have tried different cat food brands available in my country, both wet and dry food, and my cats have different taste buds. Some like dry and some like wet, and some like human food. I avoid giving them human food as much as possible because I don't want them to be able to eat something that might get stuck in their teeth or tummy. And I don't cook too much food, just enough for a couple.
Some of my cats are also gentle and some are grumpy. Some are also playful. Some of them also learn fast compared to my other cats. Some of them also know exactly how to use the litter boxes while some just do their toilet business on the floor in the corner of the house despite having 3 litter boxes positioned on the corners.
I love all of my cats though I cannot deny that I have my favorite one, who is the eldest of them and the first cat that I nurtured. He is a special cat. I call him a special cat because when he was a kitten, he often got left behind and he was not weaned by his mother because he was afraid to go outside as he often got scared by the noise made by vehicles and people. But despite him being a scaredy cat, he is still a smart one because he does his toilet biz in the bathroom so it is actually easier for me to clean it. He also doesn't like a dirty environment so when there is vomit or poo on the floor, he would ask me to clean it.
He is also a very poised cat as he never tries stealing food from the table. He sits by his bowl on the floor and patiently waits for me to fill it with cat food. He is also not picky with cat food brands and he enjoys some boiled chicken breast as a treat.
When he was young, I remember him very sweet. He would lay on the bed with us and sometimes he would ask to turn on the aircon specially on hot days. He would meow looking at the aircon.
Now that he is already four years old and he has grown big. He is now a brave cat and he can go outside the house to explore and he would go back every meal time and after dinner, he would stay in the house unless he wants to go out to sleep outside in the front yard.
He also becomes defensive when there are intruder cats and he has a loud voice which I recognize every time he is trying to defend his territory from outsider cats. He avoids getting hit by claws and I've noticed that he is very good at dodging hits from other cats so he has never really had any battle scars.
This is it for now. A story about one of my cats. His name is Jaco.
